Swim, She Did!

An hour's drive south and east, a bag of snacks to cover the 4 hour meet, a friend to cheer, and a big book for Mom ... it all made for a great swim meet for Alissa. (Brett was home sick with two sick little girls.) The meet was a pentathlon. All the kids swam the same 5 races. For Alissa's age group it was 50 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 fly, and 100 individual medley (IM). She had three silver qualifying times! She would want you to know that one of those times was disqualified because she touched the wall with only one hand instead of two ... one of the zillion little rules she has had to learn the hard way!

Alissa, way to go! I always love the 50 meters. There and back. It's the longer swims, 200m that kill me. Exciting that you can do the butterfly. I've never been able to nail that one. How is the flip turn going? Keep us posted.

That girl can swim! I don't think I want to arm wrestle with her.
