Collidog Off to Montana

You should hear the things his friends call him. Collidog is just one sample. So, he's driving off to Montana with three of his most sensible friends to see two other dude-friends. I won't see him for a whole eleven days. It's something close to a tragedy for me and something close to Christmas for him. He's the balance, the steadiness, the calm thinker of the house when Brett's at work. I told him that he might check the insane asylum if I'm not home when he gets back.

I wish the Collidogs and the "three other sensible" friends a safe trip and a fun time with the "two dude-friends". They are going to have an awesome time and make great memories. Ooooh Kristine, I will anxious to see how y'all fare! I have this feeling that you won't be in a asylum by the time he gets back. :)

Collie will have a great time! Nothing tragic about a young man who takes the initiative to take an independent trip! It's their job to try things independently at that age (and our job to tell them what they're not ready for yet... sounds a little like the toddler years, eh?) The tragedy is the 11 days you will have to go without the extra help in driving everybody to where they need to be! Now, that may give you fits and make you cry!

The Montana trip is a very happy and sad thing.

I could tell Collin was really excited tonight at the li'l "pizza send-off." He didn't talk much but I could just feel it. :) Yay for friends and a fun trip!

Love the long hair. Maybe he'll bring a girl back with him... :o) What a great fun thing to do. Next time, Kristine, you and I should go for eleven days.

I totally agree with you, Brenda. The tragedy lies completely in my Collin-dependence and the "what will I do without him" aspect of the whole thing. The part that is all about ME! The Collin side of things is hugely exciting!! I love it that he has these older friends to go do crazy stuff with! Polar swims, snow camping on mountains, trips to Montana. What does his future hold?? Too fun!
