Happy Gotcha Day, Ani-girl!

Little did we know on Sept. 30th, 2002, the day we brought Mia home ... we were also bringing home Ania. Of course, she wasn't born until three years later, but the Lord knew that when we said "yes" to Mia, we were saying "yes" to Ania too. Sometimes we say that Mia and Ania are one-and-a-half sisters. Half by birth (they have the same birthmom) and whole by adoption. Someday they will understand the significance of their relationship and marvel with us at the amazing work of God in their lives. Ania is cute, funny, the life of the party. She can hold her own against all her older siblings. Her trademark is her hair ... crazy, big, and with a mind of its own. She is Mommy #5 for Collin. (Which will have to be the subject of another post.) She loves to sing. She composes pretty tunes on the piano. She is going to be incredibly beautiful when she grows up. Happy welcome home day, Ania. I love you.

Dear Ania,
I remember the day your mom called me and told me that you were going to come live with them! What a surprise to learn that Mia had a blood relative and that the 2 of you could grow up together! The picture we saw of you was suuuuper cute, and we couldn't wait to get our hands on you. The only trouble was that you only let your cousin AMANDA hold you! Well, we love you bunches and can't imagine you not being here!
